Scholarships

The Caring for the Community Campaign seeks to provide scholarships to deserving students.  A Law & Community Foundation scholarship may be the key difference in a student’s ability to attend the Charlotte School of Law.  In awarding scholarships, the LCF will enhance the recruitment and retention of students who will participate in various public legal services programs.  This experience will be the basis for a lifetime of commitment to serving the underserved through pro bono or direct public legal services.

The LCF will establish scholarships for a diverse group of deserving students based on the following methods:

  • Annually Funded – over a three-year commitment, this scholarship funds students for the tenure of their enrollment. The minimum to establish a scholarship is $1,000 annually.
  • Endowed Scholarship – the commitment to build an endowment of $15,000 or more will ensure continual annual support to deserving students.

The LCF Scholarship Committee will award scholarships based on its established guidelines.  Scholarships can be designated to attract students who meet certain criteria the donor wishes to support (e.g., geography, need, merit, public service), provided criteria are within the LCF’s guidelines.

For all approved scholarships there are matching dollars available for your commitment.  For more information on establishing a scholarship, please contact LCF President/Chairman, Shirley Fulton, at 704-231-6782.
