Campaign
It has been my dream in my more than 25 years of involvement in the legal community to establish a community foundation that supports and nurtures legal services, education and research. In 2008, this vision was realized by the establishment of the Law & Community Foundation (LCF) as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
The LCF has partnered with the Charlotte School of Law to support and foster servant leadership through its faculty and students. Caring for the community is a major theme that permeates the school’s mission pillar to serve the underserved. This is exemplified in the community service and pro bono requirement for all students and the significant resources dedicated to public legal services.
The Caring for the Community Campaign will offer additional resources to enhance the LCF’s ability to provide services to those in our region in need of assistance. LCF’s Caring for the Community Campaign priorities will include:
- Community Clinics – to provide free legal services to disadvantaged communities.
- Community Fund – to connect businesses, civic organizations and the broader legal community with the Foundation in identifying and addressing unmet needs throughout the region.
- Scholarships – to provide financial assistance to students in attaining a legal education.
For the foundation to continue its commitment of service to the community, we need to raise $3.4 million through our capital campaign. With your help, we can realize our goal.
